This article presents the exciting highlights that have occurred in the world of Machine Learning. In the Machine Learning News Digest, we aim to provide a summary of articles related to Machine learning and the general Artificial Intelligence domain.

A quick summary of all the news you should know is provided in this article and accompanied with links for more detail. Included are resources that explain domain-specific terms and terminologies.

This week focuses on areas where machine learning has impacted the medical, astronomy, and music industry.

In Short, you will not be running out of talking points this weekend.

Firstly, we have the utilization of recurrent neural networks (RNN) to predict a patient’s responses to medical treatments. The research in this article was presented at the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting. The condition addressed in the research is a form of cancer referred to as MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome). The treatment that is analyzed within the research is hypomethylating agents (HMA).

By utilizing time series analysis and decision tree algorithms, researchers were able to train a machine learning model that monitored levels of a patient’s blood count during HMA therapy. The aim is to be able to provide predictions of blood count…
