I decided to pursue a career in machine learning as I realized after having a look at the direction the advancement of technology was going in, it was obvious AI was going to be a dominant field in the coming years.

I decided it was a good choice, career-wise to gain a recognized degree in the field as early as possible and then go on to build a solid 10-year career in the field.

Another reason I pursued machine learning and subsequently AI, is that I’ve always been a fan of movies such as BladeRunner, Chappie or Her. In all the movie there are advanced AI systems that I believe embody the epitome of man’s own curiousness in the quest for discovering our origin. Creating a system that can mimic the learning process of a human being is simply to interesting of a challenge to shy away from.
