The salary range is based mainly on where you are located. I’m based in the UK and the salary range for my role at my level is around £50,000 — £70,000. Do take into consideration that I had three years working as a Web developer.
But when applying for machine learning roles/data science roles, the general salary level for the roles I applied for were £40,000+ for entry position, the salary probably drops as you move further out of London.
I also recently wrote an article on the benefits of taking an MSc in machine learning, I believe this can help understand the benefits that come with masters.
One advice I would give is that you have a good portfolio, with some impressive personal projects. Also, try writing on Medium as well.
