We all know a ninja programmer that knows five different programming languages. Well, it turns out that expanding your knowledge of programming languages improves your overall programming skills and technical mindset.
I’m sure you’ve heard individuals who speak multiple spoken languages state that speaking new languages gets easier the more languages they learn. The same applies to programming languages.
If you are already proficient in Python, then learning JavaScript or Swift becomes easier. The basic programming principles such as Object Orientated Programming are maintained across languages. The main differences are in the language syntax.
Pick up a new programming language today. There’s no disadvantage to taking this advice.
